COAST GUARD PUBLIC SCHOOL - KINDERGARTEN ANNUAL FUNCTION: DOORDARSHAN – THE DESI NOSTALGIA Coast Guard Public School – Kindergarten brought a wave of nostalgia with their Annual Function, themed "Doordarshan – The Desi Nostalgia.
" Held on 21st September at the Swami Vivekanand Auditorium, the event transported everyone back to the golden era of television when Doordarshan was the heart of entertainment in Indian households. Despite modern advancements, Doordarshan still holds a special place in our memories for its simplicity and charm. The occasion was graced by Mrs. Preeti Bajpai, President Tatrakshika, Daman, as the Chief Guest, and Deputy Inspector General S.S.N. Bajpai, Chairman of CGPS, as the Guest of Honour. Their presence, along with that of other dignitaries, including SMC members, added great motivation and excitement to the event. The performances were a delightful homage to the iconic programs of Doordarshan, such as "Dekh Bhai Dekh," "Malgudi Days," and "Chitrahaar." Popular advertisements and promotional songs like "Amul Doodh," "Ek Chidiya, Anek Chidiya," and "Mile Sur Mera Tumhara" were also beautifully represented. A special skit titled "The Tree of Unity," based on Doordarshan's promotional video on unity, captivated the audience.
