Commanding Officer, ICGAS Daman

Deputy Inspector General Alok Negi took over as the 18th Commanding Officer of Indian Coast Guard Air Station, Daman. He joined the Indian Coast Guard on 07 Jan 1995. The Officer is a post graduate in Physics and has undergone the International Maritime Officers Course (IMO) at the USCG, USA. He is an alumnus of the Indian Naval Academy and specialized as an Airborne Tactician, qualified in Flight Safety and Accident Investigation.

In his illustrious career spanning over 32 years, the Officer has held several key appointments afloat and ashore. Prominent appointments include Regional Admin & Pers Officer, CGRHQ (West), Joint Director (Plans) and Director (Plans) at Coast Guard Headquarters, New Delhi, Commanding Officer, 750 Sqn (CG), Chief Staff Officer (Aviation), CGRHQ (West) and Commanding Officer, ICGAS Chennai. The Officer has also commanded the Coast Guard Ship ‘Shoor’. He assumed the Command of Indian Coast Guard Air Station Daman on 08 May 2026.

The Officer is a recipient of the Commendation of the Director General Indian Coast Guard, the COMCG (A&N) Commendation and the Overall Best Observer trophy for the 53rd Observer Course.

He is married to Mrs Mrinal Negi and the couple have one son, Mr Amay Negi.
